Let's start at the beginning

Anyway, it's Day 2 now (or 1, whatever we decide, refer below).

Haven't been introduced to anyone else in the lab, been enrolled, received confirmation of scholarship, or have a functioning email account. But I have been given a protocol for culturing neurons and a weekly plan, and seem to have had my project organised for me. Hmm.. clearly I should have given me thought to attending Day 1.

Ah yes, back to this review article on super-resolution imaging. As a 'soft-core biology' student, I think Physics 101 escaped me somewhere in there. I'll just busy myself with organising my desktop. Obviously not my computer desktop as I have been given the most ancient computer in history. I think it's going to take off from underneath me, and people down the corridor can hear me typing illegal hotmail emails on my 4cm thick keyboard that lacks any kind of USB port. 'Windows 7?' I ask hopefully. Maybe one day.

My supervisor sneaks up behind me and catches me with Wikipedia open on the 'Microscope' page. 'Oh good you're starting at the beginning,' he says.

Shame.
