I haven't met with my supervisors yet to discuss the details of my PhD topic. Is this normal? To be honest, I'm wondering what I've got myself into.
How hilarious this will seem when I look back on this post in months or years from now. I don't even know what I will be working on. By then, perhaps I won't know anything else, as all the brain matter devoted to normal living will have been squeezed into a small ball in a neglected corner of my brain.
But right here and now, what I understand of my project is this:
I'm going to study some of the proteins found in the postsynaptic density that are involved in excitatory glutamate neurotransmission. To do this, I'm going to use super-resolution microscopy.
That's the jist. (At some point in the near future, when I feel more confindent on the topic, I will explain this all in more detail, but bear with me for now.)
