Who am I?

I'm never very good at introductions. I usually awkwardly interrupt the conversation to introduce two people who already know each other.

'hahahah... what a hilarious story.. Anyway, have you met such-and-such who is standing over here behind me?' [Started face]. Clearly I wasn't listening to your story.

Or introduce myself to someone I've already met.

'Oh we've met before? I'm sorry I just don't remember you..' Awkward.

Let me interrupt this rambling blog post to introduce myself. Lucy someone-or-other. Lucy Cake as my mother referred to me as a child for fairly obvious reasons. Yes, I am going to die of diabetes.

I will summarise my personality simply, although I don't think I have a simple personality. (Oh how life would be simpler if I did...)

Deluded (to think a PhD will be rewarding)
Negative (obviously)

Quick life story:

All girl's high school (hated it), Bachelor of Science with Honours, worked as a Research Assistant, hated it, travelled around the world for a year or so, worked again as a Research Assistant, hated it still, moved overseas to see if science was better there, realised was old, started PhD.

As you get to know me, you will  learn when I'm wallowing in negativity, and when I'm high from the ecstasy of self-deprecation. [ha, ha, ha... crazy laugh]
