Not sure about the relevance of the title, but this article is strangely familiar.
I seem to recall just 2 days ago blogging about the complexities of memory. You know when you suddenly remember a random childhood event when you're boiling the kettle?
(Ironically, this article has jogged my memory of writing about this topic earlier in the week. Though this is more coincidental than evidence in support of linked memories.)
Here's the 'proof'? Memories are linked in time.
Decide for yourself. It seems a bit simple to me. Surely they're just saying that when you recall an event, you recall what you were doing when you remembered it. (Much like what happens when cramming for exams and you remember the differences between 'afferent versus efferent' along with the textbook page you read it from and the cup of icecream sitting beside it.)
But I seem to recall that memory is a complex thing...
